Meet Rob and Katie, the passionate duo behind the revitalised  Empire Hotel. When they reopened the iconic pub’s doors on 21st September 2022, they had a clear vision: to create a hub where families could come together, unwind, and craft cherished memories.

Rooted in Townsville’s history since 1901, The Empire Hotel now combines the allure of the past with a fresh, community-centric spirit.

“The owners have done a fantastic job with renovating the Empire. With a nice public bar, a spacious and relaxing beer garden, a playground for the kids and even a soccer field. The Empire Hotel is certainly well worth a visit.”

“Fantastic food, beer, and service. We gave it a go for lunch and it was excellent. We had steak sandwiches with chips, it was delicious. Play ground was good for the young fella to have a play as well. Really looking forward to going back.”

“A short walk from the Palmer Streets restaurants but well worth the effort. Recently renovated and re-opened. Plenty of different spots to enjoy a drink and a feed. You can watch the world go by out the front, take a rest at a wine barrel out the back or make the most of the amazing beer garden. No shortage of big screens to watch sport. Bar staff were great. And they're supporters of the Reschs Appreciation Society.”

“Phenomenal sticky fried chicken and calamari. Roomy outdoor beer garden, and the interior has also been renovated beautifully. Clean and well maintained areas.”
